I realized I needed someone who has been in the industry for long and has had good reviews and feedbacks. I inquired with a few known make up artists and I decided that Mayone Bakunawa is the one for me :)
Finally, I was able to steal some time away from work - by this I mean sleep only for a few hours and head out for wedding errands on October 23rd.
Our first stop was Mayone. Our appointment at her studio was at 8:00am although due to some miscommunications with my MOH, we arrived at Mayone's studio at 9:30am.
How was meeting her?
She makes it to a point that she gets to know her bride well enough before the actual making-up process starts. She is a very bubbly person and I felt at ease right away. I felt at the time that I can fully trust and that she is good at her craft. I realized she is as kalog as I am. She took notes of my skin type, any allergies on brands and of course my peg for my makeup.
Her Studio:
Opposite to what Mayone described her studio, it didn't look like a bodega. She had photos of her previous brides and even her own portrait. the color motif of her studio is hot pink and black and i loved it! The lightings inside are very much welcoming. In a nutshell, it was proper and just right.
My Peg:
As I said earlier, I didn't really have anything in mind. Since my maid of honor and coordinator was with me, we only showed a picture of what how I want my make up and hairstyle to be. I just want a natural look with a simple updo for the ceremony. For the reception, I decided to have a bolder shade of eyeshadow and let my hair down.
Nothing on my face here.
This is me in her make up chair.
Mayone doing her magic :)
Final product!
I loved it! Everyone in the room (and even the other people we met that day) said they loved my look. I would however not have the nose makeup on the wedding day. It made my nose look huge. It was something I asked for Mayone to do that day, hehe..
My Updo
Mayone suggested that I have my hair dyed and get highlights 2 months before the wedding. This is so that my updo will be more visible :)
Got to try on a veil.
She warned me - you might cry! haha! But I was able to hold my tears :)

Us with Mayone
Overall experience during the trial makeup was fun. I think we spent 2 hours in her studio which was all worth it. She also gave me tips in posing in front of the camera and how to hide flaws! hehe!
